Silkworms are fascinating to watch as they feed, grow rapidly, spin their silk cocoons and eventually emerge as silk moths. A group of 50 provides plenty of silkworms to observe the life cycle clearly while remaining manageable for home or classroom care.

Silkworms are typically 1–8 days old when dispatched and will be very small when they arrive. Their exact size may vary depending on their age and development.

Silkworms require a regular supply of suitable fresh mulberry leaves or silkworm chow, together with a clean, dry and well-ventilated enclosure.

Live silkworm orders are normally dispatched Monday to Wednesday by Express Post to help reduce the chance of parcels remaining in transit over a weekend. Dispatch may occasionally be delayed when weather or other conditions could place live silkworms at risk.
