Live silkworm dispatch

South Coast Silks ships live baby silkworms that are typically 1–8 days old when dispatched.

Live silkworm orders are normally dispatched Monday to Wednesday. This helps reduce the risk of parcels remaining in the postal network over a weekend.

Orders are sent using Australia Post Express Post.

Where we currently ship

Live silkworms are currently available for shipping to:

New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania.

Shipping is subject to current state and territory biosecurity requirements. If a destination becomes temporarily unsuitable or restricted, we may delay or cancel dispatch and contact you.

Weather and dispatch delays

Because silkworms are live animals, we may delay dispatch during unsuitable weather conditions, extreme heat or cold, public holidays, postal disruptions, or other circumstances that could increase the risk to the animals during transit.

If dispatch is delayed for this reason, we will send the order when conditions are more suitable.

Delivery times

Any delivery estimate shown at checkout refers to the estimated postal transit time after your order has been dispatched.

Delivery times are estimates only and may be affected by Australia Post delays or other circumstances outside our control.

Tracking information will be provided where available once your order has been dispatched.

Delivery address

Please make sure your delivery address is complete and correct before placing your order.

South Coast Silks cannot generally accept responsibility for delays or delivery problems caused by an incorrect or incomplete address supplied by the customer.

Live arrival

Live silkworm orders are covered by our 24-hour live-arrival guarantee.

If your silkworms arrive dead or severely compromised, please contact Southcoastsilks@outlook.com within 24 hours of delivery and include your order number and clear photos where possible.

Local delivery

Local delivery may be available within the selected delivery area around Cobargo, NSW, for the fee shown at checkout.

Non-live products

Habitats and live silkworms may be packed together where practical. Orders may occasionally be separated where necessary for safe transport.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
